“Advocacy is empathy, compassion and community at work.”- Janna Cachola
One of the best ways to give back to your local library is to help advocate for their funding and resources! Not sure where to get started? Follow these simple steps!
1) Join our Advocacy Campaigns!

SHARE YOUR LIBRARY LOVE!
Write a postcard to your legislators to tell them how much your library means to you! Tell them to #FundLibraries
Visit your local library and ask for a physical postcard that we will mail for you OR click this link to send a digital postcard!
#LibrariesAreForEveryone
2) Share on Social Media!

Share your library love on social media!
Sharing stories about why you love your local library can inform and inspire others. It can be especially helpful if you tag your legislators!
Find us on social media so we can see your stories too!
3) Attend Library Events and Programs!

There are countless programs held by libraries every month, geared towards providing care, community, and information for a wide variety of demographics.
Attending these events helps your library prove to lawmakers that the community supports the library! Therefore, they should too.
For more information about the Montour Falls Library’s upcoming events, follow us on Facebook and Instagram or visit our monthly events calendar.
4) Use the Library Resources Available to You!

Libraries provide FREE services and resources to the community.
In order to justify the need for these services and resources, they need to be used! Stop by your local library today to find out how you can implement these things into your daily life!
Some services and resources from the Montour Falls Library include, but are not limited to:
- Health and wellness resources
- Civic resources
- Tech assistance
- Free public WiFi
- Public computers
- Volunteer programs
- Summer Learning programs
- Community Events
- Compost Drop Spot
- Digital services like STARCat, Libby, Kanopy, Mango, etc.
5) Vote for our funding!
